“Slow success build character, fast success builds ego” – Progression

“Slow success build character, fast success builds ego” – Progression

How many times have we heard the saying that the journey is more important than the destination?

I believe this maxim to be true.

It is our personal growth throughout the journey that helps us learn the lessons that prepare us to handle and maintain success.

There are many facets to success but in this example I’ll speak to financial success.

If I gave you a 100 bucks right now you probably would go online and buy something for yourself, most likely a splurge item that you want, but don’t necessarily need.

But if you had to work an 8 hour day for a $100, you would probably at most would splurge on a nice meal and save the rest.

The sweat equity you put into an 8 hour work day causes you to value the $100 differently.

Similarly, the journey to slow success helps us to value our time and effort invested.

It also teaches us the skills we will need to:

  • weather the ups and downs.
  • teach us when to double-down.
  • teach us when to cut our losses.

Easy come, easy go

If success comes too fast, we can easily be overwhelmed and lose it all.

This is because we are ill-equipped, we have yet to develop the skills needed to manage such success.

On the other hand, our journey will provide us with all the lessons needed for a masterclass in lifetime success.

Take your time and enjoy the ride.
