“The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step” – Get started

To get started on a new business or a new career can seem to be a daunting task.

The good news is that we don’t have to have it all figured out right away.

First we can start with an idea and then we can think of the most simple way to execute that idea.

After the first step, we can then move on to the most simple second step, and then third, and so on.

All we have to do is take the first step and accomplish the first task, then on to the next, then the next.

With each task we accomplish we will gain knowledge and confidence which will lead us to the next logical step.

Take one step at a time

Instead of overwhelming ourselves with the thought that ‘we have to have it all figured out‘, we can instead tell ourselves that it is okay to ‘learn as we go‘.

This mind-frame will hopefully take some unneeded pressure and stress away from as we allow ourselves to be life-long students.

We can focus on accomplishing one small task at a time and let the momentum of each ‘win’ or completion of each task, propel us to the next step.

Eventually we will get to a point where the next step is beyond our expertise and that’s inevitable.

At that point we can choose to immerse ourselves in learning a bit deeper or start to seek the help of a professional that specializes in that field.

An important part of running a successful business is knowing when to ask/pay for help.

Ask the Internet

Most of the time when I’ve hit roadblocks on my business journey I’ve looked to the internet to find the answers.

It is amazing how much high-quality, free information there is out there.

To this day, I continue to engage in free trainings and workshops weekly and often look to YouTube to help better understand topics.

Sometimes there are certain aspects of business that we find too complicated to comprehend or we find to be too time consuming.

Instead of wasting precious time and momentum, we can instead look to outsource the task and move on to the next step.
